Lummo Figma Playbook

A set of guidelines for organizing Figma files to improve collaboration and increase efficiency.

Lummo has 3 different products, BukuKas, LummoSHOP, and Special Project.

Over the course of 1.5 years, the design team experienced significant growth, increasing from 4 to 20 members.

We noticed that it was getting harder for the design team and other teams to find the right files and designs. Each designer has their own way of organizing their files, which made it tough for everyone to access what they needed.

Problem Context

The Figma Playbook is an initiative led by the Scalability Team, a group of designers dedicated to optimizing design tools and processes to streamline the team's workflow. Our aim is to enable seamless collaboration so that the team can work efficiently and effectively towards their goals.

Shout out to the team members: Leo, Muni, Aru, Tessa, Reza.

My Role

We approach the project the same as we approach the usual design process, this time the end user is the design team.

We divide the process into three phase:

  1. Define the scope of problems. We conducted a survey to understand the pain points when the designers started a new project and after doing the handover to the engineers. And what is their current doing to solve the problems.

  2. Create the solutions and iterate. After understanding the pain points, we prioritize which problem to solve first. We did a brainstorm to create possible solutions.

  3. Socializing the playbook. We shared the playbook and We timebox a time for them to apply it to their current project.

Approach

Pain Points

๐Ÿ˜ฉ I donโ€™t know the latest screen
๐Ÿค” I donโ€™t know where to find the supporting documents
๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ I donโ€™t understand the flow inside the file
๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ I canโ€™t find the right components Iโ€™m looking for

Current Solutions

๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ Ask the designers or PM
๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ป Open files one by one
๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿป Bear with it
